For Buyers · Dallas-Fort Worth
Texas Redfish for Dallas — freight, planned.
DFW is the biggest Texas metro and our longest direct route. We don't hide from the distance; we plan for it. Cold-chain freight, a 48-hour cycle, and a Texas-origin story that plays to a Texas audience.
Dallas is roughly 370 miles and five-plus hours by truck from Palacios. That is a real distance — and it is the honest reason we plan DFW deliveries against the harvest calendar rather than running a same-day truck. The quality trade-off, handled right, is zero: insulated packaging, temperature logs, a refrigerated carrier, and a standing harvest-to-dock cycle that lands on your receiving day without surprises. For DFW buyers who care about the Texas-origin story more than about the closest farm, this works.
What DFW gets
A honest freight plan and the right story.
01 · The freight story
48-hour cycle, cold-chain end to end.
Wednesday harvest, Thursday DFW receiving. Iced at harvest, insulated pack for transit-time conditions, temperature log available on request. Not same-day, but reliably next-business-day to a standing dock.
02 · Country-club & corporate
Built for standing weekly volume.
DFW's private-club, corporate-dining, and hotel-F&B market prefers known standing orders and documented sourcing. That's our most forgiving operational shape.
03 · Texas audience
"Texas State Saltwater Fish" lands in Dallas.
DFW diners are Texans. A native species raised in Texas, for Texas tables, reads cleanly on a menu without extra explanation — even when the fish traveled five hours to get there.
04 · Pallet-scale fit
Distributors that break pallets.
DFW distributors that break pallets into case orders for downstream accounts are a strong fit — one freight cycle, multiple downstream drops, lot ID on every carton for traceability through the chain.
Category context
"If you buy farm-raised red drum at a supermarket or order it at a restaurant anywhere in the U.S., there's a very good chance that it was produced in Texas."
— Todd Sink, Ph.D., Texas A&M AgriLife Extension (2024)
If a DFW chef or buyer is sourcing fresh redfish today, it almost certainly came from Texas. The question is which farm — and whether that farm can tell the provenance story end to end. See the regulatory history →
Dallas FAQ
What DFW buyers ask on the first call.
How does Dallas delivery work if you are 370 miles away?
Cold-chain freight. Dallas is our longest direct route among the big-four metros, so we plan delivery against the harvest calendar rather than run a standing same-day truck. Insulated packaging, temperature logs, and a refrigerated carrier get fish from the Wednesday-morning harvest onto a DFW dock by Thursday.
Is distance a quality problem for Dallas?
No, when the cold chain is handled. Our fish is harvested fresh (never frozen), iced at harvest, packed for transit-time conditions, and tracked on a temperature log. The tradeoff is lead time, not quality. A Dallas standing order is a 48-hour cycle, not a same-day one.
Do you supply Dallas country clubs and corporate dining?
Yes. The DFW private-club and corporate-dining market is a strong fit — standing orders, known-date events, a Texas-origin story that plays well for a Texas audience. Multi-property P.O.s with per-property carton tagging are supported.
What parts of DFW do you serve?
Uptown, Deep Ellum, Oak Cliff, Plano, Frisco, Highland Park / University Park, Bishop Arts; Fort Worth's Cultural District and Near Southside; Southlake, Grapevine, and Las Colinas. Tell us the receiving zip on the first call.
Do you prefer to work with a DFW distributor or go direct?
Either. For chef-direct accounts that want a standing relationship, we deliver freight straight to the restaurant or club. For scale accounts, routing through a DFW distributor can reduce the number of individual freight cycles — and we support broker relationships cleanly. See the broker spec.
